YES as you may have noticed I've been gone for four months. There's a bunch of reasons for this but the tl;dr is that life just got in the way a few times over, and that this was coming from a mile away
now the LONG version, if youre interested in that, is that i was tired. extremely tired. i hadnt taken a break or allowed myself to breathe for longer than a month in three years, and my general approach to art and posting on the internet in general was, to put it simply, not good, and very taxing on me. im still trying to better myself in that aspect, and trying to be nicer to myself. i struggle a lot with mental illness and i tend to neglect myself and/or get consumed by anxiety, and worrying about performing as an artist is something that always has me on a chokehold. i burned out, plain and simple!
the burnout lead to a massive artblock that just had me really dejected, feeling horrible about my art and my work and my creative output in general. i also got sick by the end of july, like, physically. what a rollercoaster!
i was also out of my province to visit family for over two months (came back two weeks ago!). i had a lot of time to reflect on many things and clear my mind. i also had a lot of time to be homesick as hell. it was a mixed trip. im still struggling a lot mentally (and sometimes physically) but i have a new outlook and a renewed motivation to get better and DO better. i love doing this shit and some little bumps on the road aint gonna get rid of me. we prevail and we LIVE!
